YORUBA NATIONALISM SERIES – Weekly Global Conversation

Join us this Saturday for a critical and thought-provoking discussion on political power, representation, and identity in Yorubaland.

Topic: The Political Conquest of Yorubaland: Oshodi/Isọlọ Federal Constituency as a Case Study

Speaker: Oladimeji Bolarinwa

Across Yorubaland, questions are emerging about who truly holds political power and who benefits from it. Using Oshodi/Isọlọ as a case study, this conversation will confront uncomfortable but necessary realities around representation, loyalty, and community responsibility.

This session will explore:

– The dynamics of political control at the local level
– Representation versus displacement of indigenous interests
– The implications of leadership decisions on community balance
– What political awareness and engagement must look like going forward

Is political power serving the people, or reshaping the identity of the people it governs?
