THERE ARE 214 RULES AT COURT. She Agreed With Approximately 11 of Them.

There are 214 rules governing formal conduct at the royal court.
Amara read all of them.
She agreed with approximately 11.

This is Episode 8. And the antagonist is not a person.

It is two hundred years of institutional expectation
pressing down on one woman who sees things differently.

She does not fight it.
She does something harder.

⚡ WHAT HAPPENS IN THIS EPISODE:
✦ The Presentation of Provincial Interests —
37 presenters, elaborate protocol, and one incomplete submission she cannot let pass
✦ Lady Osara — not a villain, just immovable.
And exactly the ally Amara doesn’t know she needs yet.
✦ Mira’s most important lesson — “Infrastructure changes when the case for change becomes more compelling than continuity”
✦ She goes back to the village on a Thursday
✦ The blue curtains girl in the garden: “But you still came back.”
“I will always come back.”
✦ The foundation becomes royal policy — or tries to
✦ “I’m going to ask you to do it WITH me. That’s different.”
✦ And Davan finds the clause in the founding agreement that requires two-thirds ratification for Keeper policies. He knows exactly how many votes she has.

  1. I wonder what Amara’s relationship with Lady Osara will be now. She can be a huge help it seems in this situation. Hopefully it shuts Devan down. We knew he was coming. He always has an ace in his pocket. This episode was very thoughtful and entertaining. I really enjoyed it. I need part 9. I still believe in Amara. She is several steps ahead. I just don’t know in what direction. Hmm…..

  2. Wow, wow wow
