You are correct some how because I am from a Vodoun family and I understand that, there are many doctrine in the bible that are found in our ancient belief. Vodoun has been corrupted just the same way, they took our belief history and change it to promote slavery. Lol islam did not destroy voodoo religion rather it taught the people that jinn (free spirits/ ghosts, demons / devils or anything besides god, should not be worshipped.
