Please how did the queen left the palace every night to see Saro? π€
ANΓKΓLΓPΓ means someone who has death in his pouch/pocket
When I say this movie is overrated this is what I am talking about I have all this questions too which were very valid, I and my sis was dissecting the movie and all the questions you have was what we had too. In my opinion they can do better
Hmmn as regards why the mythical bird did not fight back. I think it is because the bird was not expecting for her to be there as usually the dead body is carried by the guards alone to the forest. Also I think that Akala was presented that way to show that one could be powerful in one area and weak in another. Akala is a powerful god whose power is death and life and not strength to fight just as the God of thunder can bring rain but cannot resurrect the dead
I think the night market scare was in reference to Awaro escapades. She looks for nice young men who needs help offer to help them only to visit them in the night. And Saro experienced it.
Thanks for your detailed analysis @Glory. However, I would say the movie is not over hyped at all. It deserves all the accolades it's been getting and also wondering why the Oscar body in Nigeria didn't get to nominate it for an award. Some scenes were cut off like Kunle stated at one of his after interviews and may make sense to add some back or follow through with a sequel. Some other scenes being left out in my opinion is genius, makes some of us think and create ideas of what message the story writer was passing and even allows us think deeply…I like that. In all, it is a good movie.
See me ooo thinking that I was actually watching the movie because of how Glory was telling the story, thank you for this sis π
God bless you glory πβ€οΈ,I felt the same after watching it,for me it was interesting but overhyped mam
Glory
Hi thanks for the review
I really loved it
But Saro hails from Gbogan and he came to Oyo town
Concerning the gourd
I feel like she wanted to destroy the gourd and maybe she opened the gourd she found out that it contained something.
The ordinary man's thinking would be removing the content would strip the gourd off it's powers.
I feel like Akala's punishment on Arolake would be her barrenness and her unhappy home because if you notice she was very happy at first but after that encounter with Akala she started having issues with Saro in their relationship (because them no marry her for the film).
Glory you are so so underrated… You are really a big investment ππππ
My love for bimbo is growing π β€ day by days β€
I love the movie soooooo muchβ₯οΈ
I hope you know that the akala bird is not just one
The second point you made was akala no longer resurrecting people because akala can only resurrect people when they throw them in the bush
Sari was muffling because in his interview after the movie, kunle REMI revealed that his osun Yoruba was not as God that he had to learn it and it wasn't still as strong..that's y he kept breaking in his sentence
I love your hair Gloryπ€πβοΈ
The movie was interesting from a general perspective, truly too much of fragmentary scenes.
Also I think they should have related Arolake barrenness to the consequence of taking and touching the Mysterious bird π¦ power as sacrifice she render to save Saro.
The bird is Mysterious being, so as Arolake chased the bird with just a stick and the small calabash called itβs power cannot disappear?
The movies is lengthy so I think they are trying to cutting the story short instead of making it a series of episodes.
Even itβs just season 1 then about 10 episodes.
It will give rooms to most characters and cast that were cut off so quickly .
Truly itβs historical movie and good story background. Kudos to the camera shots and Video quality, Make up and costume.
just finished watching this movie, it is very interesting and rich. I was actually looking for all you said about the movie but i didn't see any. The movie is just perfect for me.
@frankly speaking with glory Elijah the Yoruba people believe that the night market is for wandering souls, spirits and mysterious creatures to make their sales
Akala bird may not have expected a third party to be present, it may be used to one on one with the dead so rolake's presence might caught it unaware. sometimes the mighty falls no matter what power it inhabits. Akala can as well have a retaining power though
this girl is very evil person, she just can see any good in youruba people, film or big brother
I disagree with you, Glory, as your criticism of fragmented plot is not valid as it isn't vague and it is pretty straight forward.
It is a very interesting serie, and I indulge you to go watch the continuation now in 2024 done in March: Anikulapo: Rise of the Spectre. Then you will change your mind now. They definitely deserve their flowers for both series and of course beautiful visuals as I love the olden days looks as it looked so real and their beautiful customs they showed.πππππ

Your questions and their answers:
1. Anikulapo? : The one who hold death in his pouch.
2. Why sand as Akala bird power? : Obviously the sand is no ordinary sand, it's magical sand that can bring human to life.
3. Awaron, why she is not presented well? That's why you should go watch Anikulapo: Rise of the spectre, then you will know more about Aworan as she does have an estranged husband and even daughter. And you will know why she is like that. Don't want to give spoiler.
4. Why big characters are not portrayed to their status? A good actor or actress can act any part, no matter how small or irrelevant the role given is. Artistic integrity as Rita Dominic has summarized when some people dragged her for acting a part lower than her big status in Lekki Housewives.
5. Why a stick was used? A stick is a weapon and it was not said that the bird is a spirit, so it can be hit. So why not?
6. How did she know that the sand is the power of Akala? She took her chances of guessing right as of course, she didn't know, but guessed right, as it could open, so she thought why not pour out content? The only added thing I think was that she should have broken the bottle too.
7. Why she was not punished by the Akala bird for stealing it's power? She was punished as she almost died in the hands of Bashorun and many people died because of her while she hadn't presented herself to it for a certain ritual she was suppose to do, to appease it.
