Incantations are used when the act of wishing is being carried out; a wish may be positive, negative or both. Good wishes are often referred to as prayers/blessings, and negative wishes are often regarded as curses. When incantations are said, they buttress/strengthen/deepen the following wish.

I worked on this video on the day that George Floyd's life was unjustly taken; I was not aware of what had happened until two days after.
I have three younger brothers that I am grateful for. As the first child, although I am not a mother, I serve as a mother figure, and I have a fierce attitude towards the protection of children and a strong connection to people who share the same sentiment.
When I first began to watch the video of George Floyd’s murder, I was enveloped with numbness. My heart chakra had been blocked for quite a while; as an empath, there is only so much that I can take.
The minute that I heard the 46 year old, 6-foot-something tall man call for his mother, ‘mama,’ a sharp, painful thrust tore right through my heart. It would be best to stay away from describing how I really felt; the words for it simply do not exist.
I keep looking at Stephen Hamilton's mother-child painting, visualizing what the man looked like as a child. First, as a baby, and what the reaction was on the day that he was born. I wonder if his first word was ‘mama,’ since it was one of his last.
With his neck pinned and his face pressed to the ground, laid flat on Mother Earth’s cemented chest, he called for his ‘mama.’ Bearing in mind that his mother evolved from her physical body about two years ago, I know that she was there. For all mothers of African descent as a collective, both living and dead, the moment that he called for his mother hit differently.
Numbness, anger and a desire for justice, helplessness, grief, fear for the lives of my biological and non-biological brothers- I have felt these feelings intensely within the past 24 – 48 hours, the worst being helplessness and lethargy.
I am tired of using hashtags regarding cases of injustice; I just want it to stop. May his soul rest in power; we have to stay strong as a community.

@ Adérónké̩, O seun pupo. George Floyd killing is terrifying and horrific. Likewise, I believed George's mother was there as he was departing his physical body. Rest in power.
Hi Adérónké̩, may I make another personal request? For the next videos you make on O̩fò̩, might I suggest one that deals with either love or for sickness? Considering we are in a moment of worldwide pandemic, knowing prayers and incantations for healing can be a useful thing. Also, most people in the world either suffer or have suffered at some point in their lives, for love or are lacking in love, or wish for a good partner.
One small question though is that if we are to think of incanations as the chanting of a spell, then the statement in this video isn't exactly a spell but perhaps a statement made within the spell. Could your next video on Ofo include a complete spell, so to speak? It will be interesting to have spells for different situations such as for when being attacked, when attacking, when traveling, etc.
