I was wondering what the mother’s desperation was about. Then, she revealed that a wealthy son-in-law was her retirement plan. If any parents are reading this, please, that may have been the way it was done in traditional Africa but these are different times. Your children face different challenges to what you faced in your youth. It takes a lot longer and a lot more to get established these days. So, you had better make other plans to support yourself in your old age and not add to your children’s challenges. Then, they may never reach full potential because they are carrying you while struggling to carry themselves.
If they can support you, great! But be proactive and responsible by working out a way to support yourself. This could be rental income, income from a business/cottage industry, passive income from something you created and the like. Trust God and your leaf will continue to be green, you will continue to flourish and you will bless your children rather than burdening them. Start planning for old age before it comes. Don’t push your children to marry rich men or make poor choices because you would not make good choices for yourself. The Bible says a good man leaves an inheritance for his children’s children, not becoming a burden to them. May God grant us good health so we can continue to be productive, to His glory. 🙏🏼

I declare to everyone in a similar situation, lift up your head and look to your Maker. He created you according to His own specifications for your own specific purpose. Your circumstances may not be what you desire today but this does not change God’s purpose or design for your life. Surrender your life into God’s hands and ask Him to take control. He will steer you to your destiny and no one can stop it. So, from today, change the words you think and speak about yourself. Say, “I am God’s spec. I am in His will and He will bring to me the people who align with my purpose, in Jesus’ name.” God bless, guide and keep you, in Jesus’ mighty name.
I’m not all the way through the movie yet but I hope there’s a point he tries to pray for someone and it doesn’t work and then he understands what healing really means…it’s God that heals and not him
