I don't know why grace is acting as the victim. You did your family and yourself wrong by getting pregnant out of marriage with your full chest, not rape when you know exactly the family you're coming from. You have all the chance to stop him from sleeping with you, but you did with any remorse.
I remember how everything played out for me and my wife( then my fiance) . We were both purnished by our different churches but later i was reinstated after i married her ( I love her so the pregnancy just made the wedding come earlier). We lost the pregnancy barley two months after wedding and today we have a son and everyone is doing great.

The problem I see with Christian parents in this movie and real life is that they are more concerned about image and shame before people that actually doing right by Christ.
As a child you are trained more to not bring embarrassment than to actually grow in spirit.
