📖 THE STORY

Amara Nwosu walked away from a Lagos billionaire engagement with nothing but a duffel bag and eight thousand naira. She stepped off a 14-seater bus in a village called Umuahara, slept on a dust floor, and woke up to find a man named Obinna who did not know her father’s name.

For one full month she becomes someone else. She sweeps a compound. She fetches water from the stream. She learns to pound fufu with grandmothers who do not speak in English. She dances at the New Yam Festival. She kisses a farmer at a hidden waterfall while the water keeps falling behind them.
