  1. Zakiyyah made an impossible choice under impossible pressure. 💔 What do you think about her story? Share your thoughts below! 👇 #Zakiyyah – Don't forget to LIKE, COMMENT, and SUBSCRIBE for more inspiring stories!

  2. How sad … the emphasis must be to HOLDING TO ACCOUNT sexual predators especially of children who are helpless before adults, and parents of abused children who stay mute when they observe changed behaviour in their children when certain 'uncles' visit.

Childhood trauma is compounded a million times in adults (1 in 3 women, AND 1 in 4 men abused) according to statistics.

A compelling watch this movie was, but extremely awkward to watch for toxic masculinity in homes and families (the father’s military background notwithstanding) is inevitable and slow death all around.

Hopefully your next script is about confronting sexual predators in the dramatic telling of the story (instead of an aside mention to a therapist) and target the MEN who prey and enable, instead of blaming women (scapegoats) and culture (Hausa/conservative Patriarchy).

  3. The ending was unfortunate but realistic. I can imagine some will perpetuate the issue in the film, and despite the circumstances expect the character to have been well behaved. Well what of the men who refused to listen to her and see her as a human being? She repeatedly said she was not ready and her Dad, husband, mother and friend refused to hear her. They mimicked the actions of her uncle who did not care about what she wanted. To expect a person to speak to a therapist when they have been programmed to believe that their voice doesn't matter is unrealistic. Her character did not want to harm her husband but the people in her life failed her; that would make any normal person angry and anger makes us do what we normally would not. We are the ones who must live with our choices. In an ideal world she could have relocated to escape being forced into marriage and spent time seeking healing.

  4. In life I come to realized that there 3 type of women in this world 1) career women 2) I know my right women 3) virtuous women . Men looking for women to marry look out very well because there a lot of them if you fell into no1 and no2 your name na sorry

  5. Wow, At 13, a child should be focused on growing, learning, exploring their talents, and dreaming about their future, not carrying the responsibilities of marriage. Childhood is a critical time for education, emotional development, safety, and self-discovery. Every child deserves the freedom to play, ask questions, make mistakes, and imagine what they want to become. When we protect childhood, we create stronger, healthier communities and brighter futures. Let children be children. Let them grow with care, guidance, and opportunity so they can reach their full potential and contribute meaningfully to the world around them. That will be our take on this very import topic
