Oh no, I feel sorry for Abbas. He only wanted appreciation and acknowledgement, I do understand but he shouldn't have asked for half of the wife's income.
The wife is wicked, marriage shouldn't have secrets and she was building a new life without her husband, that's not fair at all 😢😢😢
This is a good lesson to us ladies, that when you enter marriage you must enter with qualifications or business already. If a man funds your business or education, he will behave like Abbas.
Money brings a person true character to light and reveals who they really are a true testament of who you married is if the person you marry is the same when one is more successful than the other
I also suffered from that problem, my own man always tell me I owe him since he helped me to come to the other country, he collected my salary for 3 good years ,the minute I refused he stopped providing for the family and said I must do everything alone since he did it b4 I got a job 😢
Fatima was wrong for building a house , which is a big deal inna marriage. He did do her a favor by enrolling her into school but they should have had better communication overall. Abass shouldn't have expected anything in return besides the thank you he received.

The communication in that marriage is terrible. Enrolling her into nursing school without talking to her may seem kind, in his mind, but she has her own mind, autonomy, and dreams. It’s a bit disrespectful to not even consult her. It’s always wild to build a house and NOT tell your husband. The expectations didn’t seem to be laid out clear. What he wants, what she wants, what she needs, what he needs. I think if she was making more money, she should help with the house, but again, it wasn’t discussed and she said that she paid for the school fees and groceries, however much it is. He delayed her from getting her own thing for along time, it seemed. Taking months to ‘think about it’ is to long in my opinion, when she could have started a side business earlier. If he expected her to pay half in a culture where the woman’s money is considered her own money, than his wants is seemingly unreasonable. He also can only see from his point of view.
I think he just got jealous of how much she made over him and felt like he was in competition with her. He should have gave her the approval or money to start a side business and sent himself at school.
Interesting story. For as long as he takes to make plans, he doesn’t seem to think long term or deeply about his wife in those plans.
I also think that in all of these African tales where the father abandons and kicks out his wife and kids, humiliates her, allows his mom and/or family members to abuse her, that this is actually fixable.
