In 1969, CBS News released a very controversial report — an unfiltered look into the Nigeria–Biafra War. This documentary revisits that groundbreaking broadcast that explored the causes of the Biafran conflict, the humanitarian crisis that shocked the world, and the voices of political and military leaders from both sides. Through rare archival footage and firsthand interviews, we uncover how the struggle for Biafran independence, ethnic tensions, and colonial legacies led to one of Africa’s darkest chapters.

Chapters:
0:00 – Intro-Igbo people
1:48 – Biafra
3:57 – Nigeria
6:10 – Propaganda
8:59 – the Nigerian – Biafran War Frontline

  1. So cubana chiefpriest aka belle nabwater open his big mouth to say Igbos were defeated?? He should watch this video and appreciate the resilience of the Igbos despite their limited arsenal and ammunition..I don't blame him, anywhere belle face, na where his brain dey..smh

  2. The commentor here isn't saying the truth of all the things that happened during the war. He even said the armies were paid $40 a month when at the time Nigeria was still using Pounds and Penny. By using Dollars in his comments means he doesn't know what he's talking about.

  3. Just imagine the Biafra people haven the food access, Nigeria wouldn't have dare cross the border

The don't know anything about war, that's why even in the agitation of Biafra now they fights gorilla warfare they wouldn't come close to the Biafran soldiers, instead they preferred going after unarmed civilians and erasing a community

  4. The tragedy that is Nigeria is pitiful. Largely due to incessant greed, egocentricity, and corruption of her politicians and military. Nigeria is tettering on the precipice of a failed state!

  5. The Vampire Gowan says the nicest things with his mouth. But inside his heart it's a Satanic kingdom, he opens the Satanic verse for the innocent children's of Biafrans which he staves to their earlier childhood Graves. God cursed the place this man was born 🙏 A pathological liar in that matter. See your Nigeria that you killed 12 millions Igbos for? Go Ahead With One Nigeria, why not?

  6. Before the massacre that lead the crisis which eventually turned to the civil war, Igbos where hated because of their higher enterprise nature, ahmadu bello hated the Igbos so much tell BBC 1967 that would prefer a foreigner than an Igbo to work in the north.

  7. Wasn't born when the Biafra war took place but the story lives rent free in my head. Lost an uncle to Biafra war and about 85% of families in Igbo land lost someone to the war
