Esquio -» Sitting at an altitude of 750 meters (2460 feet), with around 2 hectares (4.7 acres) of existing built space, it has 65 houses, a public fountain, and a chapel to the devotion of Santa Quitéria. The inhabitants didn’t have access to tap water or a sewer system. Electricity was only available in 1983.
Esquio had its last inhabitant in the mid-1990s. In 1991, it had 13 people living there, with the chapel still active.

Pessegueiro -» Sitting at an altitude of 550 meters (1804 feet), the lower village has 64 houses, a small Ermida, a fountain, and a communal washing tank. Electricity and water arrived at the same time as Esquio.
Pessegueiro had its last inhabitant in 1999. In 1991, it had 16 people living there.

  1. Great to see you Danny. I was worried about whether you were doing ok or not. Very nice to meet your sister. I loved these mysterious ruins very much, especially Esquio. It must have been a hard life with no running water or electricity. The inhabitants must have been very industrious to manage to eke out a life there. Take care!!

  2. DANNY!!!! It is so good to see you again. I have always enjoyed your abandoned Portuguese village videos and now we get TWO abandoned villages. I especially enjoy coming back to the hot sunny explorations when it's cold and snowy here in the winter. It warms my soul! Thank you Danny for posting and thank you Bea, (I hope I got your sister's name correct). This was an absolute treat!

  5. Hi Danny, I can't understand why Pastor Willy hasn't commented on this very nice video yet. He usually writes straight away when he likes a video. Do you know how he is? I'm seriously worried about him.

  7. Hey hey, dear Danny it is so lovely to see you again with one of your awesome explore videos. Somehow these two ghost towns are filled with a kinda sad atmosphere, because of the mystery, why everyone left. Nevertheless the views you were showing, are breathtakingly beautiful. It was of course also lovely to see you collaborating together with your sister. Hiking in that place was certainly a great challenge because of the summer heat. – I very much enjoyed watching, and at the end of your video your iconic bloopers made me laugh! So funny, bro!
Wishing you only all the best, blessings, peace and happy greetings from Switzerland.
