Whenever these people come up with this, you're from some tribe in Africa, I think about Nat "Deadwood Dick" Love. He was an Indigenous Black American and NOT African. Many like him are part of our ancestry and made us who we are.

One of the reasons why we thought that most if not all black Americans came from Africa is that growing up in Chicago from Alabama on mom side and most of father side from Mississippi no one said anything about us being indigenous black Indians of this land especially when the black power era was going strong all we ever heard was that our great grandmother looked like a Indian with light skin and long black hair even the top black historians were on the African thing alone with the schools and now my imagination figure out many things on the subject of most of us are indigenous to this land
