Iyalode was somewhat out of her place in the way she presented the matter. It didn't communicate enough respect for the long nor the queen, and chances are if the king were a older man or the queen an older woman she might not have presented the matter like that, she was even using "o" for the queen, not "e", which communicates honour in Yoruba culture.
So I'm not too against the king's stamping of authority and boundaries here.
